Huge fan. Great Bloomers are a Toronto based band who take inspiration from so many different genres of music that giving them a label is not easy. They mix everything from very catchy pop melodies to piano infused college rock with a hint of country sensibilities. This band has the ability to put me in the best mood, I'm currently listening to them and I have to say, they are the perfect band for a summer afternoon hangout.
Their live shows are amazing. They've got a very dedicated fan base who make going to their concert and screaming out the lyrics to "The Young Ones Slept" totally memorable, and even if you're not keen on doing that the energy from the audience and the band is enough to get you dancing even if you don't really know the tunes.
Personally, I really love their debut album Speak of Trouble (released April 21st 2009). I've been spreading the word to my friends about these guys, though not sure if they've picked up on their awesomeness, but if you just give them a chance, you're guaranteed to enjoy it.
