English Lit Courses

I have a love/hate relationship with English courses and honestly love/hate relationships are frustrating because all I really want to know is, Do I really like doing this or not?. Here's a pros and cons list, because this is the only way I can think to present this.

Pros
1) I love the reading.
2) I don't mind writing essays and midterms because my bullshitting ability is good. I don't necessarily study nor care about what I'm writing about but at least I have the ability to get them to believe I do.
3) Lit courses don't require much studying, as mentioned.
4) Some analysis does make the story better.
5) I am always attracted to my professors in English courses (this isn't really a pro, but it's definitely not a con, maybe somewhere in the middle? at least it makes class interesting).

Cons
1) I hate the analysis because usually it gets to the point where I think, "God this extremely detailed analysis of the symbols is totally ruining the story for me."
2) I also hate those pretentious people who put their hands up and spew out what they think is the correct interpretation of the story. I hate those people with a passion.
3) Memorizing authors and story titles is pointless.
4) MLA is annoying.
5) There are always a few students vying for the professors attention, this often leads to some sort of perpetual competition between students to come up with the most insightful interpretations so the professor notices them. This one is in relation to number two. I also hate this with a passion.
6) Since these classes are open to interpretations there are a lot of people who would be better off not saying anything because the things they say are just plain stupid.

That's all I can think of.
