The first time I read Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs was during my first year of university and ever since then I have grown very fond of Chuck Klosterman and others who write about different aspects of pop culture. I am currently reading Perfect from Now On: How Indie Rock Saved My Life by John Sellers (who by the way I befriended on last.fm, so cool!) and I realized that sure I love to read people's books on how music and other issues in pop culture have shaped their lives but none of these writers are women. It's nice to know that there are guys out there who feel the same way about music as I do, but what I really want to know is if my thoughts are being validated by women. It would be more comforting to know that there are females out there who share the same experiences as I do, and who have no problem sharing them with everyone. It's weird because in general we expect women to be more emotional and whatnot but the book Love is a Mixtape is essentially a guy talking about his recently deceased wife and their connection through music and honestly, it was really heartfelt. So what I want to know is where are all these modern female pop culture writers (because I haven't found any). Anyone know any?
Ps. Chuck Klosterman's new book, Eating the Dinosaur is out. Will be getting it soon, how exciting!

Maybe Joan Didion kind of- eh...
hey, this is M. Z. Grub, from Grubtunes.com. I'm actually writing a novel right now called Grubtunes: The Novel which is kind of like Chuck Klosterman meets Tucker Max and I'd like to send it out to some people to read when I'm done to get some feedback on what works, what doesn't, etc.. Would you be interested in serving as a test victim?
Sure, let me know when you've got something ready to read and I'll be happy to.
