Study Music

And it's back. It's the music you can have on low volume while you take notes for hours on end. I predict that I will be listening to a lot of study music this year because my course load requires that I take notes on pretty much everything I read (thanks psychology). So, in light of that I am going to share with you some of the bands that I listen to on a regular basis while studying and hopefully some of the very few readers can give me some suggestions on new bands to listen to. I usually listen to: radiohead, the sea and cake, nick drake, elliott smith and classical music. I might branch out this year and try great lake swimmers, cass mccombs and elliott brood. Any other suggestions?

I always favor instrumental music when studying as it's less intrusive. So in that regard I'd suggest:

Brian Eno- Ambient 1: Music for Airports

Charles Mingus: Black Saint and Sinner Woman

Frank Zappa: Waka/Jawaka

Goldfrapp: Felt Mountain

Le Loup: The Throne of the Third Nations...

Anything by Do Make Say think, Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
